AYSO Region 7
|
AYSO Region 7 is one of the oldest AYSO regions formed in America. Our region includes the beautiful southern California coastal communities of Westchester, Inglewood, Playa del Rey, Marina del Ray, Ladera Heights, and Playa Vista. We are located adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport. Our premier facility is the Carl Nielsen Youth Park located at 6000 Will Rogers Ave. in Westchester.
AYSO Region 7 has earned the AYSO Platinum Region Award for the past 10 years.
AYSO Region 7 takes great pride in our having passionately and successfully embraced the AYSO philosophy:
|
-
Open Registration: Our program is open to all youths between 4 and 19 years of age who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing;
-
Balanced Teams: Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible—because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play;
-
Everyone Plays: Our programs goal is for kids to play soccer—so we mandate that every player on every team play at least three-quarters of every game;
-
Positive Coaching: We believe encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the players and ultimately leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players.
-
Good Sportsmanship: We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.

AYSO Region 7 is an all-volunteer organization. Each year volunteers register over 1,500 soccer players, form over 130 teams, coach and manage and referee those teams, distribute enough uniforms to clothe a small army; the volunteers prepare and maintain Nielsen Field, organize events like picture day and "Character Counts" and the Coaches picnic. The number of volunteer activities are too many to list here. AYSO Region 7 happens because of volunteers. Please consider volunteering a little of your time to help make this season the best ever.
